It's to get the badge from the town there.
It... people say that doing that'll win you a thing that'll let your Pokemon carry you long distances, if they can fly.
Makes 'em stronger or something.
I figure... I figure it'll be easier to stay in touch with everybody that way.
[After all... one of the reasons she hadn't been able to see so many of her friends much before they went was because she'd been GROUNDED. Literally.]
